In November, 2006, Joshua Berman, author, visited Belize to update the Moon Handbook on Belize. Jan and Judy Wilson helped him, along with their friend Vitalino Reyes, a tour guide. Vitalino took us all to the Cerros Maya Archaeological Site in the Corozal District. Here are photos of the trip over, which included the hand-cranked Pueblo Nuevo Ferry.
Along the way, Vitalino Reyes found a tarantula nest. He showed us all that tarantulas aren’t the horror we’ve been taught. If not threatened, they are fairly docile, as these photos show.
Arriving at the Cerros Maya Archaeological Site, we first looked at the museum where various actual artifacts are displayed, as well as posted information about the structures, history, and other information. The photos that follow are only a hint of the wonders available to view.
